When Does a Facebook   Becomes a Free Network Marketing Lead?

A fellow marketer, who shall remain anonymous to protect the rights of the innocent, recently asked the question: “Would you call a like a lead?”

Some of us in the forum group weren’t too sure what was meant by the question and thought it referred to calling network marketing leads directly…

Let’s take it at face value shall we?  Consider our detective friend Dano, for instance…

Day 1
“Hey Dano, are there any leads yet?”
“Nothing yet Chief…”

Day 2
“Hey Dano, any leads today?”
“Yeah Chief, some lady in the area left a message on our hotline!”
“Great, call her back! And make it today!”

Day 3
“Hey Dano, any word on that lead?”
“Yeah Chief, we got her info and called her back, she knows where the perp is hidin’ out!”
“Great! Get over there and get that info!”

Day 4
“Hey Dano, what did that lead bring in? Do we have a case?”
“Yeah Chief, she knew where the perp was, got us the info we needed and we’re able to close this case!”
“Great Job…Book ‘m Dano!”

So what constitutes a lead? Just a name and an email? Maybe in the real world of marketing that’s what’s required to “close the deal” or in the example above, “the case”. But was all that information available at the start? No. It took some work to get to that point.

So our marketing friend asked, “Would you call a like a lead?” or maybe better asked in the form of “When does a like become a lead?”

I suppose that depends on how much footwork you’re willing to do to close the case! Everyone you come in contact with has the potential of becoming a network marketing “lead” in a real sense of the word…don’t let the maybes and the possibles become “the one that got away!”
